Oriental Negros Trip

Posted by maj on Jun 9, 2007 in Dumaguete, Trips

Thanks to Cebupacific’s P1 fare for this trip great savings on our part!

Dumaguete as a well known province was only one of the city of Oriental Negros before this trip i actually thought that Dumaguete is like Iloilo a province in a whole that comprises many municipalities. I was told by a native there that even their place is Sibulan still when asked where they live they tend to answer “from Dumaguete.” This because, Dumaguete is much more known to us than other places in Oriental Negros, therefore saves them from further inquiry.

Our trip to Oriental Negros was coincidentally in time for Sibulan’s Fiesta – where we stayed – therefore we were surprised by the event that we have not prepared ourselves that we are visiting 6 houses for a day’s meal, at first we actually felt challenged and excited, but upon reaching the fourth house, we almost begged our host to take us home, that we’re so full and cannot take to have another house visit. :)
The houses we visited were so hospitable that you will really feel at home.

On our 2nd day here, we went to one of the beaches in San Jose, full of fun, we go boating and funny here is that we got overloaded in a small banca that it turns upsidedown, lucky for us we havent gone far from the shore, full of laughter and good food. The beach is somewhat exclusive, we have it all by ourselves.

We have not fully maximized our stay here as the weather prohibits us, we were not allowed to visit Apo Island as it rains heavily, same with the famous waterfall of the province :(

Im glad i have been here!

Overnight At The Famous Beach

Posted by maj on Feb 12, 2007 in Boracay, Trips

Boracay is simply the best when it comes to sands… beach.. sun… i was there 12th of February in time for valentine season but then no lovers caught my sight most of the crowd were foreign vacationists… you can tour the whole beach in a day but that without a rest just like we did… my disappointment is that i havent got the chance to savour the loveliness of the beach and the pureness of the sand cause we only have a day for this place… i promised myself to be back here for a week’s vacation…

there are three stations in the beach… those in station 1 (the sand) were whiter compared to station 3 and 2, maybe because station 3 is more commercialized and is more crowded and as station 2 is close to station 3 :)

there are lots of affordable accommodations in boracay, though you just have to have contacts for your trip.

The Beauty That Was BOHOL

Posted by maj on May 1, 2006 in Bohol, Trips

I was never an adventurer and had never loved travelling new places until i went to Bohol… such beauty is so unsurpassable… the land.. the water.. everything.. I never thought that such beauty exists… We got to Tagbilaran via Philippine Airlines, we have friends from Bohol who had booked us at the Wregent Hotel, a nice, simple hotel and affordable. We paid P900/ night for a twin room – w/out breakfast – on our first day we just stayed in the hotel and had our dinner outside in a seafood restaurant (sorry i forgot the name) w/c serves iced tea in a… should i say gigantic glass :), they do.

On our second day we rented a van to tour us in the land adventure (that’s P4,000 for the ten of us). We left the hotel by 6am and traveled more than an hour for Sagbayan Peak, then to Carmen, the place where you will hike a long stair to get a full beautiful view of the chocolate hills. The view of the chocolate hills was very relieving, especially when you are from a noisy and busy city like manila.

On our way back to tagbilaran we dropped to few more places of attractions such as the man made forest the long hanging bridge at loboc river, the loboc church – known for its international winning choir – and of course settled at loboc river cruise for a very delectable lunch. Afterwhich, we had photo op with the famous big eyed small monkey-like called tarsiers :)

From loboc we headed to have a look of a very big python that according to the care takers was caught only from their backyard, then went to the famous old Baclayon Church then to the Blood Compact Shrine, Hinagdanan Cave and lastly to a shop of souvenirs.

On our third day, by 6am we were aboard a boat for whale and dolphin watching between Pamilacan and Balicasag islands, also called umbrella islands as according to the boatman the islands look like umbrellas when your looking on them under water.

Afterwhich, we landed at Balicasag for a sumptous lunch with the natives there and of course the swimming and snorkeling were on the side.

The beaches of Bohol, particularly that of the two aforementioned islands were so virginal, white sands and a very very clear water.

A very exhausting but full of enjoyment beyond expectation… would love to be back soon.

Destiny Ride

Posted by maj on May 21, 2005 in Puerto Galera, Trips

after a very exhausting yet enjoying company outing in batangas a group of auditors invited us to join them in puerto galera… aboard the overloaded banca we headed for puerto galera first boat trip in the morning from batangas… travelled for almost 45 mins and landed at white beach… t’was summer hot… after settling in an overnight accommodation we savored the beach for a few hours and decided to go snorkeling at the other side of the island… it was fun, though i m quite tired and actually hesitated going, i still joined.

the beach is as so with most of the Philippine’s beaches – very beautiful in sight and in experience – … so many colorful fishes which you can actually touch… one of us actually got a starfish which is the first time i ever saw one and had never imagined it in color blue, but it was, the boatman actually explained that it because the starfish is already dead, the reason for a change of color.. amazing…

the night in puerto galera is so lively, party is everywhere… bars are open for everyone, you can dance whenever and wherever you wish… so carefree… lots of lovely and sexy people…

this trip is the most memorable of them all… anyone i know would probably agree as they knew why… :D
